polyester resin is one kind of thermosetting plastics.
It is widely used in many fields such as construction,
transportation, chemical industry, electron, watercraft,
aviation, space flight etc.
After modified by nanometer material, its many capabilities
can be improved effectively. For examples: modulus of
elasticity, bending strength, distortion temperature,
hardness, heat-resistant, anti-corrosive, re-ultraviolet,
and anti-aging etc.
Usually the nanometer materials are added into finished
resin. Because the disperse character and combining
strength with chemical bond are weak, it’s limited to
improve the capabilities.
In our company, the nm-SiO2
is added into the materials of polyester and polymerized
on original-locate. The disperse character and combining
strength are improved and its many capabilities are
improved too. The content of mn-SiO2
in resin is 3-5%, and the modified resin is also transparent.
The result of examination: after modified with mn-SiO2
in this method, many capabilities of unsaturated polyester
resin are improved. The hardness increased is improved
43-50%, the distortion temperature is increased 35-50%,
the bending strength is increased near 100%, and the
modulus of elasticity is increased about 50%. The nm-SiO2
is the globosity and dispersed uniformly inside UP with
particle size of 10~40nm.
In order to obtain different capability, YCIC can
put different nanometer materials into the different
resin, such as mn-SiO2,
mn-TiO2,
mn-Al2O2,
and cascade.
